As part of my work alongside the Exeter Northcott Theatre, I lead the Young Creatives group, which is a group for young people age 17-21 who want to explore theatre and performance. Each term, we work together to create a performance alongside a guest artist who shares their practice with us. In Summer 2023, we worked with writer Michael Ramus to explore narrative-driven podcasting.

Out of our sessions together, we created a four-part series called ‘Lower Mulch’, based in a small (fictional) village in the rural countryside of Devon. We follow along and see glimpses of the lives of it’s residents as we learn more about this not-so-normal village.

When a murder rocks the village, questions are raise, will the annual pigeon race go ahead? Will the yoga studio finish construction? Will the Vicar get their piano up the stairs? Will the murder ever be solved… join us as we answer a few of these questions in ‘Lower Mulch’.
