Who is Jacob?

Hi, I'm Jacob!

I’m a Theatre Director who focusses on work with and for children and young people.

I remember the first time that I walked into a theatre as a child. The feeling of joy, excitement, and anticipation has served as a constant source of inspiration.

Since I began working as a freelance director, producer, and filmmaker I have developed a unique approach that revolves around extracting the very best from the teams I work with through play, humour, and co-creation.

Collaboration lies at the core of my process. I thrive on working closely with talented actors, writers, designers, technicians, and young people to create a compelling and imaginative experiences for ever-changing audiences. By fostering an environment of trust, respect, and open communication, I encourage creativity to flourish, and together, we strive to push the boundaries of what audiences expect from work with and for children and young people.

I am constantly learning from the people I work with, both professionals and young people alike. I seek out the thoughts and opinions of those that know more than me, and I strive to implement as much as possible to craft stories that audiences want to see.
